The Marquette Gold Mining and Milling Company owned mines at Sunshine, Colorado (Boulder County) just east of Gold Hill, in the Gold Hill mining district. The company built a tramway from their mines to their mill at Sunshine. During its heyday in the around 1880, Sunshine, Colorado had a population of over a thousand people, numerous buildings, mills, hotels, a newspaper, saloons, barber shops, mines, and a school.
