Great vignette of a grizzly bear holding bags of gold coins
" Nevada County, Cal. Adjoining the Famous Delhi" printed at top left. Below the vignette it reads, "Grizzly Ridge". Grizzly Ridge in Nevada County, is located on Grizzly Creek, between North San Juan and North Bloomfield. It is on the gravel deposit of the county. There was mining dating back to 1854, and in 1855, the Middle Yuba Canal Company built a ditch from Grizzly Canyon to supply North San Juan with water. Mining in the area continued until the mid 1900's. The St. Gothard mine was operated by the Delhi Mines Co. by 1918, with A.A. Codd of Nevada mining fame as the Delhi company's president.
