4636, formerly manufactured by Honeywell's Astor Wax division and marketed as J-50 is a soft reduced pour container blend. This wax is one of the longest standing blends in it's class. It has a creamy & opaque appearance, minimal wet spots, and excellent fragrance throw both hot and cold! It is possible to use up to an 8% fragrance load in this wax. IGI 4636 is a fairly opaque wax however, we have not had troubles with achieving vibrant or dark colors. An excellent reduced pour wax for everyone from a novice to the experienced candle maker. IGI 4636 is a soft wax and is very easy to cut.
Instructions for Use:
Heat wax to 175-185*. Once wax reaches desired temp, add your dye, blend well then add fragrance and again blend well. This wax should be poured between 155-165* into heated containers and cooled as slow as possible for optimal adhesion to glass and a smoother finished candle top.
*For jelly and mason jars or other jars that are taller than they are wide, we recommend pouring the wax at about 180-185* into heated containers and cooling as slow as possible. The increased pour temp will allow for more even cooling and less sink holes.
