He drove in the
AAA

USAC
Championship Car
series, racing in the 1941 and 1946-1961 seasons with 121 starts, including 14 in the
Indianapolis 500
. He finished in the top ten 74 times, with 21 victories.

Col.A.W. Herrington was the Herrington in Marmon-Herrington. He was on the AAA contest Board. Probably most famous for his role in the Marmon Automobile Company.
This is a great piece of old original Indy 500 racing history memorabilia. AAA Official Certificate is 10" across x 8" tall. AAA Contest Board Official CERTIFICATE OF RECORD from 1948 is still in good original condition but on the right side is some stains.
