MERCRUISER YOKE SHAFT SEAL CARRIER 66081A2 8M0171103

Description

Listed here is a USED Mercruiser Yoke Shaft Seal Carrier.  This is a Genuine OEM Mercruiser part NOT a cheap Chinese aftermarket replacement.  Shows some slight wear/staining from normal operation.  SEAL SHOULD BE REPLACED.  Although seal was working at time of disassembly it should be replaced so that it properly seats with your yoke shaft seal surface.  USE SEAL AT YOUR OWN RISK.  The part number for this carrier is 66081A2 or 66081A 2 which supersedes to part # 8M0171103 and lists for .75 new from the dealer.  A new seal is available at additional cost if you would like one its part number is 26-823894 if you'd like to shop around.  The number 35993 is also cast into the part but I think it may be a batch number.  This is the seal that is in the upper gear case and keeps oil inside.  The yoke shaft rotates through it.  They were used on the Alpha One Gen Two as well as most Gen One gear cases starting in the early 1980s to almost present day.  They may also be used in other platforms as well.  This one came from a 1997 gear case that was used on a freshwater Orlando chain of lakes its entire life and has never seen salt water.  The carrier you see pictured is the actual carrier you will receive with nothing extra.  If you have any questions or need help with compatibility please feel free to contact me and I will help you to the best of my abilities.  Thank you for your interest.  Steve MMSLLC :)
