Here is a super rare beauty of a stock! 144 years old and in great condition.
After several years, I've not come across another one like it - if you have one, please shout!
Stock Number #746 dated March 5th 1878 for Fifty (50) Shares at 0 Each.
A total ,000 Face Value in1878 is the equivalent of 9,000 in today's dollars!
The Secretary and President signatures are illegible.
The recipient is Woods & Freeborn Trustees.
Condition: Excellent.
There are five pin holes by the eagle in the center section of the left hand column. The Star - 50 - Star punch is unique.
The right side has a few wrinkles and light soil from (I suspect) being 'counted'. No attempt to clean, iron, etc. - untouched.
All corners are firm - no dogears, the paper is crisp and odor-free. The stock measures 4 ⅛" x 9 ½" - extremely suitable for framing.
