Drive Shaft for Mercruiser MR Alpha Lower Unit 1984-1990.
It will fit the following applications:
MR Alpha one 1984-90 s/n 6225577 & up
MR/Alpha one Counter Rotating 1984-90 s/n 6225577 & up.
An Alpha drive will have no preload pin on the top of the drive shaft ans will have a plastic water pump housing.
If you have a preload pin then you have a #1 drive.
If you have a stainless steel impeller housing then you have a Generation 2.
This part will not work for either of those applications.
This item Replaces Mercury Quicksilver # 45-42634.
