    Description

    This is a vintage 1903 stock certificate for Compania Minera Zapoteca Mining Co. for 500 shares. The mine was in West Virginia. The original holder transferred it to a relative in 1927. The family tried to cash it in in 1975 only to receive a letter informing them that the mine is defunct. The letter from West Virginia Secretary of State office is included. Note that it appears the letter and the certificate were stapled together at one time. See pictures.
