    Description

Amador Consolidated Mining and Development Company. Stock issued May 1, 1908. Incorporated in the Territory of Arizona
. Embossed company seal lower left. Certificate
    No. 1994
    was issued to
    Robert G. McIntosh
for 1,000 shares of capital stock ( per share). Company capital was
    ,000,000
. Hand signed by company vice president George Sell and assistant secretary T. D. Fuller. Certificate is about 9.5” x 13.5”. Black print with brown borders and underprint.
Beautiful vignette engraving across the top of the certificate showing the foothills and mountains beyond in the Bitterroot Mountains.
In great detail (from left to right, or north to south), the large engraving shows (with very small text labels)
    the
    “Amador Mines”
(in the foreground), a road and railroad running up into the foothills, then past large smelting-refining mills, then passing another smaller mill, then into the town of
    “Amador City”
(on the right side of the vignette). The railroad that runs across the entire vignette is labeled
    “Amador Railroad,”
and there is a creek that parallels the railroad route labeled
    “Cedar Creek,”
which flows from the mountains, through the foothills, and past the town of
    “Amador”
in the lower right corner of the vignette. Another railroad,
    “N.P.R.R.”
(Northern Pacific Rail Road) is shown passing the town of Amador, and leading up into the mountains. In addition,
    three small vignettes include:
an old railroad steam engine and passenger cars (top center of the certificate); miners with picks and shovels (lower left corner); and a large smelting/milling plant, with a tiny locomotive pulling rail cars full of ore (lower right corner).
The Amador Consolidated Mining & Development Company mines were located in Mineral County, Montana on the eastern slope of the Bitterroot Mountains (Cedar Creek Mining District, or Keystone District, Lolo National Forest). Company mines were on Cedar Creek near Trout Creek which flows to the northeast to the present day town of Superior (the creeks flow northeastward to the Clark Fork River). Mines were lode mines that produced copper, silver and gold. (see attached photo of the Amador Mine on Cedar Creek, 1902)
