Here is a beautiful photo of 1965 winner Jimmy Clark with Lotus owner/creator Colin Chapman(both waving), along with the owner of the Speedway, Tony Hulman at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. They are riding in the beautiful 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible Pace Car. Clark, won this in a run away in his Lotus Ford V-8 Special. He qualified 2nd and finished first at an average speed of 150.686 mph.(Winner's purse 6,621.00) This was Ford's first victory at Indianapolis. It was also the first for a rear engine chassis.
