1898 Crescent Mining & Milling Company, Signed Colorado Stock Certificate

Up for auction is a January 25, 1898, Colorado stock certificate of The Crescent Mining and Milling Company for 5,000 shares, signed by the president and secretary of the company in Colorado Springs.
Each share was .00 each. The Colorado embossed seal states that the company was incorporated in 1895. The certificate is made out to E B Hosman.
The certificate measures 10 by 8 ¼ inches.
The certificate is in very good condition, except as follows: There are the expected two vertical folds. At the end of the two folds, in four places, are about 1/16 inch cuts. The bottom left corner has a ½ inch cut. There are three pinprick holes on the top front middle area which looks like staple holes. The back of the certificate has brown stains on the two vertical folds. Please see the photos for exact conditions.
I inherited this certificate from my grandparents. A distant ancestor was a stock broker at the time of this certificate.
Although I hate to give up this vintage item, it’s now time to sell it to a deserving buyer, so I can clean out my closets…one item at a time
